I'm a woman of a certain age who is on a mission to show that the post war baby boom generation never had it so good...

"Research"
Loving being able to spend time justifiably surfing the net for inspiration now I think it is "work" of sorts....I loved the exhibit pictured on the left-twas in an exhibition at the Chateau de Vascoeul close to our French idyll. More to follow from there.....
However, have been somewhat distracted today by our gorgeous puppy Tallulah-Belle having an operation. She is finally home, with one of those silly but vital collars to prevent stitch nibbling.....
Stephen is off hob-nobbing with the glitterati tonight at the Grosvenor House Hotel, so any attempt to get him to add any profound musings will have to wait for now. Trying this morning to get him to conform to the idea of wearing a "black tie" was nigh on impossible. He has ended up with a vaguely conventional top half paired with tartan trews...hope they are understanding that he is a "creative" in all things!
I had to shop for party garb today, never a life-enhancing experience. Far too much time has to be spent looking in mirrors, facing the reality of real age/shape over the fantasy in my head.......Have ended up with a "spandex" cream & black miracle of a dress, paired with some cute black/purple slightly lower than normal heels, so I can dance all night without going barefoot..very "Mad Men"esque-but will still have to do battle with the carb cravings.....A well deserved V&T is to hand (low-cal tonic :)) whilst I contemplate Battersea Power Station as a music venue - I am really, really curious to see how the "Secret Garden Party" events people manage to stage it....Photos will follow (assuming that is that I am in a fit state to take any....
Having a rare moment of loving London in all its grey glory. Summer is the time of year that least suits this great city. London is not a place naturally geared up to cope with heat beyond spring. There should be a law that we all need to flee to the country or beach for forced r'nr July to August. It is not like people could not keep their fingers on the pulse. Productivity would soar in September, but maybe that is the old hippy in me talking. I can hear Mr Murray the pup landlord saying: "That would be France" Capitalism would never tolerate that prospect. It will not stop me persuing this goal in my own life tho...
Off to cook pizza & give Talullah a cuddle....tis going to be a long, dark night (of the soul)-see David Lynch video link I just added.
What a wonderfully self-indulgent, of no use whatsoever flippant thing this is....
To honour the Tommy Hilfiger vs. Preppy Handbook collaboration, the brand has built an 800 square foot pop-up/travelling beach house dubbed “Prep World”, which opens in New York City on April 28. It will subsequently hit cities including Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, London, Madrid, Belgium and Tokyo. Think the Puma shipping container, but bigger and slightly less hip.

On the starting block...wobbling a bit!
Add caption |
It is past midnight & I realise I have been completely absorbed looking at hundreds of photos for potential uploading...A bit like shoes & earrings, there are never enough. So my camera will be snapping away even more than usual, accompanied by a notebook as I am fed up with forgetting things!!!! People, dogs & cat have gone off to bed, leaving me wired with nobody to bounce ideas off. Frustrating. Will sign off with this idea shamelessly lifted (with huge thanks) from Cara Gordon-Stevens:
1 - Go to wikipedia and hit random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”. Third picture no matter what ...it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Use photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together.
5 - Post it with this text in the "caption".

Well this is going to be exciting:
2011 sees the start of Black Dog Arts making a bit of a noise about who they are, what they produce, what inspires, annoys, excites, amuses them. We hope to show something of the creative process, the successes & the failures, photos, videos, the absolute honesty, laughter & tears (hopefully substantially more of the former). What is starting out as us sharing our journey & a stream of consciousness will hopefully, by you telling your friends to follow us, gather momentum.
